On the afternoon of March 15, 2023, the “Easy Dental Care Public Welfare Lecture”, jointly organized by the Labor Union of China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center and Rebound Dental, was successfully held in the Cathay Hall on the 24th floor of the China CITIC Bank Building. More than 50 employees from the China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center attended the lecture.

 

The theme of this lecture was “Secrets in Hand, Easily Solve Dental Problems”, presented by Professor Yuan Donghui, Chief Orthodontist at Rebound Dental.
 

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Yuan asked the audience: How are teeth damaged and lost? Do we inevitably have to face dental troubles after the age of 30? Next, Professor Yuan explained in simple terms the two main causes of dental problems: dental plaque and malocclusion. He emphasized that dental plaque can cause dental caries and periodontal disease. If we pay attention to prevention, we can avoid many dental problems and do not have to face the issue of “difficulty and high cost in dental treatment”. He hoped everyone would attach importance to oral self-cleaning. In addition to good oral self-cleaning, regular visits to the dentist for professional oral care are highly necessary. Dentists can help adults effectively remove dental plaque and tartar, and help children apply fluoride and seal pits and fissures. If everyone does this, they can effectively prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease caused by dental plaque.
 

Regarding malocclusion, i.e., crooked or misaligned teeth, Professor Yuan explained: Misaligned teeth first affect aesthetics and may reduce self-confidence. They also make oral self-cleaning more difficult, easily leading to dental caries and periodontal disease. If conditions permit, orthodontic treatment should be performed to align the teeth. It is best to carry out early intervention during adolescence to guide better development of the teeth, jaws, and facial shape. If orthodontic treatment is needed, the best time is around 12 years old, as the treatment duration is shorter and the results are better.

 

After the one-hour professional explanation, colleagues from the Credit Card Center raised their hands one after another to ask about various dental issues. Should wisdom teeth be extracted? Does orthodontics require tooth extraction? What should be done about bleeding gums? Professor Yuan patiently answered each question.
 

In addition to dental health science popularization, Mr. Xu Qingfei, General Manager of Rebound Dental, introduced the design concept of national medical insurance and the scope of medical insurance reimbursement in the dental field. He encouraged everyone to make good use of medical insurance to not only save on consultation costs but also better conduct early prevention and treatment of oral diseases.
