A 7-year follow-up of the anterior dental implant showed good osseointegration and healthy periodont

Case Introduction: Traumatic root fracture of the upper incisor, requiring aesthetic restoration. On the day the root canal therapy for tooth 21 was completed, tooth 11 was extracted and an implant was immediately placed, followed by the bonding of a temporary bridge for restoration. Three months later, two porcelain crowns were fitted. Following annual routine implant maintenance, the osseointegration of the implant remained excellent and periodontal health was good after 7 years. Teeth whitening was also performed, and the discolored tooth 22 was restored with a veneer.

Dental implant placement after the removal of defective porcelain teeth.

Patient Profile: The four maxillary anterior teeth had defective porcelain crowns, which not only affected aesthetics but also caused gum recession, leading the patient to seek treatment. After removing the defective porcelain crowns and extracting the decayed roots, dental implants and porcelain restorations were performed. At the 2-year follow-up, the teeth were firm and the periodontium was healthy.
